The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is copying and pasting text from the Out and About Newspaper blog “Sam Says.”
The NRCC is worried about State Senator Roy Herron’s bid for Tennessee’s 8th Congressional District seat for the US House of Representatives.
Sen. Herron was a candidate for the Democratic Party’s gubernatorial nomination in Tennessee, but upon Representative John Tanner’s decision to retire from the US House of Representatives, Sen. Herron decided to withdraw from the gubernatorial campaign and run for Congress.
The Nashville Post posted a December 2, 2009 email from Andy Sere of the NRCC, in which Sere copies a small pargraph from my blog that was favorable toward Sen. Herron. To read the Nashville Post’s blog, “Do the National Republicans Fear Herron?” click here.

Andy Sere writes, “”And just two weeks ago, NashvillePost.com reported that the capitol city’s alternative newspaper endorsed his [Sen. Herron's] gubernatorial campaign because he favors special rights for gay men and women.”
Andy Sere is wrong to call gay and lesbian rights “special rights.” Gay and lesbian rights are human rights, and young Republicans would agree with this assertion.
Just read what Meghan McCain has to say about the issue: “I am a woman who despises labels and boxes and stereotypes…Lest we forget, our founding document, the Declaration of Independence, grants the same rights to everyone in this country—’All men are created equal.’ If you think certain rights should not apply to certain people, then you are saying those people are not equal. People may always have a difference of opinion on certain lifestyles, but championing a position that wants to treat people unequally isn’t just un-Republican. At its fundamental core, it’s un-American.”
McCain talks about the future of the Republican Party, too: “At the most basic level, sexual orientation should not be a factor in how you are treated. If the Republican Party has any hope of gaining substantial support from a wider, younger base, we need to get past our anti-gay rhetoric.”
Andy Sere’s rhetorical approach to denouncing Sen. Herron’s position on gay rights is deplorable, and young Meghan McCain Republicans in Tennessee should let him know how they feel (so should Log Cabin Republicans).

I’ve been trying by means of the online for my research on this matter, thank you so much…
This is really beautiful!
