Hey gang,
We went “day tripping” down to Chattanooga this past weekend and actually took the RUBY FALLS TOUR! If you haven’t been it is a nice little new experience. However, if you are claustraphobic then you might want to reconsider this. It was a beautiful site to see, when you consider finding a waterfall inside a cave. Another thing about this is if you go in the summer, it is quite cool. (as in you won’t find yourself SWEATING!) There were a few other cool things to see inside the cave, but I still don’t think it warranted the 15.95 price tag. Afterward, we decided to use our GPS system to find a new place to eat, hmmm…while I KNOW this has worked for other people, our system told us, The House of Blues, which I thought sounded pretty cool, till we drove all over town trying to find it only to discover that when we found it, it appeared to be an old auto repair garage and they were cooking outside in one of those big barrels! Needless to say, we didn’t eat there! It kind of reminded me of, Fried Green Tomatoes…the movie that is. (and I sure wasn’t about to find out what they were putting in their barbecue sauce!)
While I was on vacation last week, I didn’t really have the whole week off. I spent a few days working on a wedding video for a friend of mine that got married on the 4th of July. The wedding turned out to be quite fun, in fact the bride and groom laughed through most of the ceremony, including the kiss! Made me think that when we decide to get married I will want my wedding to be that much fun.
My Val’s Voice Column is moving into a blog on the OUT AND ABOUT NASHVILLE site. I will let you know more details as I figure this out myself. I am still not sure what differences this will make, but we shall see soon.
I heard that RED is changing their name and going through a makeover. I will be interested in seeing how that goes and also what they decide to do with the menu. For more information on this story, check outandaboutnashville.com.
