jill liz bandChecked out the PURPLE HOUSE Saturday night and caught the Jill Sissel Band. They were pretty good, Jill sure knows how to play that guitar! Liz, of course remains on the drums and she has always been amazing. They did original songs with a mix of covers. The second set is when things started getting really heated up. They were doing songs like, RHIANNON and Tom Petty tunes.
It was a beautiful night to be outside, who would have guessed that we would have a night in the 50s in the middle of JULY?! It was so cold Val Reynolds was seen knitting a blanket while she enjoyed the music. (see photo) Meanwhile, Renee cheered her on from the sidelines, hoping she would get it done in time for her to use it! There was a nice little crowd there, you never know who you are going to see at the Purple House, well with the exception of Ann and Bev of course.
Then, we decided to crash Al and Laurel’s party on the way home. That turned out to be quite fun too! It was Pega’s b/day though she never tells anyone!  We keep trying to have a party for her, but NOOOO…Dr Laura the poor thing (or is it “bless her heart”?) She is already sporting an ‘athletic injury’, from her pool volleyball game a few weeks ago. She broke her finger and had to have surgery on it! Well, this night she leaned over in her, yard chair to get her drink and OVER she went!! Pega had only walked away for a second…proving that you can’t leave her alone for a minute! Anyway, she crashed to the ground, and all the kings horses and all the kings women, came running to put her back together again. The interesting thing is, she broke the chair next to her NOT the one she was riding in and at least it wasn’t another finger! Cuz, I am fairly certain that a lesbian with TWO broken fingers is almost the same thing as when you have to put a horse out to pasture, isn’t it?heehee  Maybe I should go call and get an update for this story…The update was this, she didn’t go back to the doctor, but she felt like it was ok the next day, sooo there you have it. The moral of this story is; “A drink in the hand is better than one in the bushes, for sure!”
They were having a drawing to benefit the softball team and our new ‘BFF’ Terry (whom I hate to admit that I didn’t recognize from the boat trip earlier this summer, (well she WAS wearing a different ‘do’ and all!!) ended up winning 300.00 and then turned around and gave them 200.00 of it back! How’s that for generosity?

How you think about a problem is more important than the problem itself – so always think positively.

For those of you interested, I am STILL struggling with my outandabout blog. I have finally got it up , but still can’t seem to get the photos to upload! You are supposed to be able to link to it from the outandaboutnashville.com site, BUT I still haven’t found that link yet either! aargh! So the way to reach it so far is; BLOGS.OUTANDABOUTNEWSPAPER.COM. Don’t forget this is a fairly new idea and it is still getting the ‘kinks’ worked out of it.

  1. I cannot wait to read more of this fantastic topic. So much today Ive never even acknowledged. You sure did put a different twist on something that Ive heard very much about. I dont believe Ive actually read anything that does this subject of the same quality justice as you basically did.

  2. Iím not that much of a internet reader to be honest but your blogs really nice, keep it up! I’ll go ahead and bookmark your site to come back down the road. Many thanks
